JAMESTOWN, NY – The excitement of street basketball is set to return to Jamestown, New York as the 2025 Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament takes place on Saturday, August 9, and Sunday, August 10th on the campus of SUNY Jamestown Community College. This highly anticipated event is hosted by the City of Jamestown, Collaborative Children’s Solutions (CCS), and its signature sponsor, Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union.
Bringing together players of all ages and skill levels, from seasoned athletes to neighborhood hoopsters, the Gus Macker Tournament is a weekend full of high-energy competition, community spirit, and family fun. Teams from across the region will compete in divisions designed for all ages and abilities, including a Top Men’s and Women’s Division, Junior Divisions, Macker Mites (8 and under) and a Unified Division.
“The Gus Macker Tournament is one of the highlights of the summer in Jamestown,” said Patrick Smeraldo, President of Collaborative Children’s Solutions. “We are thrilled to once again bring this incredible event to our community, and we are grateful to the City of Jamestown, SUNY JCC, our sponsors, and our dedicated volunteers who make it all possible.”
Beyond basketball, the event will feature food vendors, music, and family-friendly activities, making it a can’t-miss weekend for players and spectators alike. The tournament enters its 3rd and final year of the contract held with Collaborative Children’s Solutions and will look to bring new partners in to assure its presence in our community for years to come.
“The Macker is a natural fit for Jamestown and Chautauqua County and has proven to be a financial shot in the arm for hotels, restaurants and retail suppliers in our area” said Smeraldo. “The Macker is a costly project for a tiny company like ours so we are actively soliciting community partners to assist with some of the financial burden, offer their company services in trade for sponsorship as a way to support it and working with established community agencies and organizations to gain volunteers and offer them a chance to share in a financial windfall to support their own mission.”
Collaborative Children’s Solutions is proud to announce the addition of the local AAU basketball program, Fusion as an organizing partner of the 2025 Gus Macker.

The goal of adding Fusion along with their coaches and players is to take advantage of their expertise from other tournaments and events they participate in as they travel the country while adding necessary volunteers needed for the August Macker and offering Fusion an opportunity to share in the financial windfall of the Jamestown Gus Macker.
