Christmas in July: Free Night of Jamestown Tarp Skunks Baseball, Fun & Fireworks

JAMESTOWN, NY (CCS-TV) — Get ready for a midsummer celebration like no other as the City of Jamestown teams up with Culture Care Senior Living and Collaborative Children’s Solutions (CCS) to present a magical evening of “Christmas in July” at Russell E. Diethrick, Jr. Park.

On Friday, July 25th, 2025, the hometown Jamestown Tarp Skunks will take on Niagara Falls at 6:30 PM in what promises to be one of the most exciting family-friendly events of the summer season.

The entire evening has been made free to the public, thanks to a generous game-day buyout sponsored by Culture Care Senior Living and Collaborative Children’s Solutions. That means no tickets are necessary—fans are encouraged to come early to secure the best seats in the ballpark. Gates will open well before game time, and the fun will begin from the moment you arrive.

What truly sets this event apart is its unique blend of America’s favorite pastime with the spirit and wonder of the holiday season. Santa Claus himself is making a very special summer stop in Jamestown, and he won’t be coming alone. Joining him will be a full lineup of festive holiday characters—frosty friends, jolly elves, and maybe even a reindeer or two—ready to greet children, take photos, and spread joy throughout the evening.

Kids will love the chance to interact with their favorite Christmas icons, while parents can enjoy a fun-filled night of baseball and community celebration. Holiday music, themed games, and family activities will fill the stadium with cheer, making this an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.

“This is what community is all about—bringing people together, making memories, and creating joy,” said Patrick Smeraldo of Collaborative Children’s Solutions. “Thanks to the continued partnership between CCS, Culture Care Senior Living, and the City of Jamestown, events like this are possible. We’re proud to provide opportunities where kids, families, and seniors can come together and enjoy something truly special.”

Culture Care Senior Living has made a strong mark in the region as not only a care provider, but a committed community partner. Their support of events like Christmas in July highlights their mission of enriching lives and building meaningful connections—especially intergenerational ones. The joy on the faces of seniors watching children delight in Santa’s visit is just one of many moments that make the night meaningful.

Meanwhile, CCS continues its impactful work to support youth and families through advocacy, events, mentorship, and media projects like CCS-TV. With a vision rooted in building better futures for children, CCS brings energy, innovation, and heart to everything they do—including making community-wide events like this one possible.

Of course, no night at Diethrick Park would be complete without thrilling baseball action. The Tarp Skunks, known for their competitive edge and fan-friendly entertainment, will square off against the always-tough Niagara Falls team in what’s sure to be an action-packed game. With postseason implications potentially on the line, fans can expect top-tier play and plenty of excitement on the field.

And just when you think the night couldn’t get any more festive, the skies will light up with a grand fireworks display to close out the evening. Courtesy of Skylighters of Orchard Park, NY, the show promises to dazzle attendees and leave everyone with a smile on their face and a bit of holiday magic in their hearts.
