MAYVILLE, NY (CCS-TV) — Chautauqua County is gearing up for the highly anticipated 2024 Solar Eclipse by offering free ISO 12312-2 certified solar glasses to ensure safe viewing of the celestial event. Starting March 12, 2024, residents and visitors can obtain these glasses from various distribution points across the county.

Distribution locations span fire departments, libraries, municipal buildings, and more, strategically placed for convenience. Individuals and organizations seeking larger quantities can make requests via email to glasses@chqgov.com.

The county urges active participation in eclipse preparedness and provides updates on safety guidelines through CHQGov.com/eclipse. A full list of distribution points are also posted on the county’s website.
