JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (CCS-TV) — The Babe Ruth World Series is set to return to Jamestown in August 2025, marking the 20th time the city has hosted the tournament. The event, featuring 13-year-old players, will take place at Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park from Aug. 16-23.

This edition of the World Series coincides with the 45th anniversary of Jamestown’s first Babe Ruth tournament, held in 1980. The competition will bring together eight regional champions from across the United States—representing New England, the Middle Atlantic, Ohio Valley, Southeast, Southwest, Midwest Plains, Pacific Northwest, and Pacific Southwest—along with an international team from Australia. A local host team from the Jamestown area will also compete.

Teams are scheduled to arrive on Aug. 14, and the tournament will culminate with a championship game on Aug. 23.

Organizers are seeking sponsors to support the “Buy Out a Day at the Park” initiative, which allows fans to attend games free of charge. Businesses or organizations interested in sponsoring can contact the board for more details.

In keeping with tradition, the board is recruiting 13-year-old girls to serve as “Diamond Girl Ambassadors” for the teams. Additionally, volunteers, bat boys, and ambassador families are needed to assist throughout the tournament.
